​This tour runs shows you the 400 years of history of the state of Maranhão. São Luiz, the state capital, is a multi-racial city with a vast popular culture. The city has one of the largest historical centers in the Americas. During this tour you’ll visit the historical neighbourhoods of Praia Grande and Desterro (now known for its Reviver Project) and you’ll visit the following places of interest: Praça Pedro II, Palácio dos Leões, Praça Benedito Leite, Igreja da Sé, Fonte do Ribeirão, Beco da Bosta, Igreja do Santo Antônio, Praça Gonçalves Dias, Teatro Arthur Azevedo, Igreja/Convento do Carmo, Beco do Quebra Bunda, Convento das Mercês, Igreja do Desterro, Mercado das Tulhas, Rua Portugal and the Casa do Maranhão.
