Supporting the rescue and relief effort for the flood victims of Pernambuco
Ideia Tours regrets to report on the significant destruction and displacement which has occurred since unmanageably heavy rains struck the states of Pernambuco and Alagoas during June. As a result, at least 13 cities have declared a state of emergency due to the excessive flooding and damage. During the rains, over 30,000 people were evacuated or made homeless.
The regions which suffered the most have since received support in the form of rescue and relief teams, bolstering existing flood defenses and the supply of emergency funds.
For our part, all employees at Ideia Tours contributed with food parcels, personal items, clothing and so on, in a bid to bring some degree of comfort to the many victims in those desperately affected regions.
