CO2 compensation in partnership with SOS Mata Atlântica

Posted by Glaucos Ribeiro on April 25, 2019

Our team travels to all corners of Brazil and beyond to attend travel fairs, inspect accommodations, organize guide training workshops, develop new self-drives and explore exciting new destinations. These essential trips enable us to constantly renew our product portfolio and stay on the cutting edge of an ever-evolving tourism destination. Even though we proudly state that 2018 counted over 25 trips, we were left scratching the back of our heads over the amount of CO2 our inquisitive team has ejected into the atmosphere! To this end, we have decided to partner with SOS Mata Atlântica, a local non-profit organisation that runs a carbon offset program (Forests of the Future) in Brazil’s Coastal Atlantic Rainforest. The program supports various environmental initiatives and has planted over 4.9 million native trees, 67 thousand of which have been planted for the sole purpose of COcompensation.

Our contribution has enabled the planting of 311 native tree species in the Tietê reserve in southern Brazil. We wish all of our seedlings the best of luck, and sincerely hope that they become forest giants that bear fruit and consume copious amounts of CO2 for years to come!
